A crumbling Taos adobe and an aging horse rest beneath Taos Mountain on a hot summer afternoon in this 8" x 11" pastel by Lindy Severns. Studio framed in a simple 3" antique gold molding with archival acrylic glaze. 2008.
ARTIST COMMENT: I love to paint adobe, and northeastern New Mexico is equally special to me. Jim and I were returning down Taos Mountain from a plein air painting excurision when he spotted this scene. While the other horses rushed the fence where I stood taking pictures, this old horse didn't bother to vacate his shady spot.
