Old Spanish Trail Studio

MOUNTAIN MEADOW is a 6" x 9" mini-pastel of a sleepy summer meadow high in the Sacramento Mts of New Mexico. This studio-framed 2009 Lindy Severns plein air original ships free. ARTIST'S COMMENT: We set up camp on the edge of this meadow. Blooming thistle first invited me to paint this scene, but as the light changed, I became more intrigued by the patterns of light across the grass and conifers, and the purple thistles became bit players in the finished painting.
