Artist's comment: On vacation outside Cloudcroft, we enjoyed daily afternoon showers. I unpacked my plein air backpack in the most comfortable, protected position I could find, then started painting what was in front of me. Storms eventually drove me to pack up my painting that day, but I returned the next. Only then did I realize this painting needed to be about the colorful laundry hanging on the clothesline under so much green.
